Are You Ready to Hire?

How to tell whether your next constraint is a person, a process, or a price increase.

By VBA Core

Hiring solves capacity, not chaos

If the work isn't documented, a new hire inherits the confusion and needs constant supervision. Write down the role's actual tasks before you post it.

The three checks

Before hiring, confirm all three are true:

  • Demand is consistent, not a single busy month
  • You can cover the full cost for several months, not just the wage
  • The tasks you'd hand over are repeatable and describable

Consider the smaller step first

Contractors, part-time help, or raising prices to reduce low-value work are often the right move before a full-time hire.
